Telecomms in a Nutshell – a TUANZ Training course

Like all industries, telecommunications is riddled with puzzling concepts, quirky acronyms and a unique language. Everyone who works in or provides services to the telecommunications industry needs to have at least a basic understanding of its key issues, terminology and background.
TUANZ is pleased to offer Telecomms in a Nutshell – a one-day crash course that demystifies the world of telecommunications.
 
Who should attend?
Telecomms in a Nutshell is uniquely designed for non-technical professionals working within or entering the telecommunications industry, as well as for those providing professional services to the industry, such as lawyers, accountants, analysts and HR specialists. It is also ideally suited for non-technical decision makers responsible for their business’ telecommunications services.

Those who should attend include:
Executive, sales and marketing, customer service and support staff working within the telecommunications industry, such as a carrier, ISP or ICT service provider
Managers and executives overseeing the telecommunications requirements of their business
Technical staff with a non-telecommunications background.

About the course
Telecomms in a Nutshell provides newcomers to the world of telecommunications with an ideal induction and overview of key technologies and concepts. It will enable attendees to engage with technically literate customers, suppliers and colleagues and equips them with the knowledge base to allow them to explore the field further.

Facilitator
Telecomms in a Nutshell is run by telecommunications guru Don Wallace. He has over 30 years of experience in engineering, telecommunications and computing. Don began his career in the NZ Post Office and has worked for GEC Telecommunications in the UK and Unisys New Zealand. He has been an independent consultant since 1993 and his client list includes users, vendors and regulators of telecommunications services both locally and abroad. Don has been actively involved in TUANZ since its inception in 1986, including being a past chair of the organisation.

Where and when
Telecomms in a Nutshell is offered each month in either Wellington and Auckland with a course running in Christchurch on an annual basis. The course runs from 9am to 5pm and is fully catered including lunch and morning and afternoon tea.

Travel Subsidy: Attendees traveling over 100km to a Training Course in, Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington, will now be credited $100.00 per registration. Please note to redeem this offer you must email events@tuanz.org.nz.

Cancellations and No Shows
Should you be unable to attend a substitute delegate can attend in your place at no extra cost but please advise the TUANZ office. Cancellations must be received by TUANZ in writing 5 working days prior to the event for a refund less $100 per registration. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after the, 5 working day period. Please note, a 'No Show' at an event does not constitute a cancellation and will be charged in full.
