Labour challenges UFB plans, but misrepresents TUANZ position

Labour's Clare Curran has issued a statement claiming that "major uncertainties" exist around the government's ultra fast broadband plans and that operational separation is under threat.

Fair enough - that's her view.

But she is wrong when she quotes TUANZ as being concerned that "...an operational separation variation request by Telecom may amount to the end of operational separation."

That's not what we said. Here's our statement, the Radio NZ coverage, Computerworld and the Herald.

I've talked to Clare. She's acknowledged the error. I'm having coffee with her tomorrow to make up. The muffins, I hope, will be on her!
