Come on Wellington (and Hamilton)!

It appears the Hurricanes’ loss to the Chiefs in Super 14 rugby last weekend, has left Wellington contact centre staff in the doldrums… This may explain why registrations for the Wellington leg of next week’s TUANZ Contact Centre Networking Lunch hosted by Nortel are below expectation.

While we have just about reached capacity for the Christchurch and Auckland sessions on June 2 and 5 respectively, Wellington is just not bringing up its end! Usually attendance at TUANZ events from Wellington is very strong – normally outperforming Christchurch and at times Auckland too, where people often register but then decide at the last minute its too windy/rainy/chilly/balmy and don’t turn up!

But alas this is not the case this time round… Christchurch has more people registered thus far and even if half of the Aucklanders don’t make it, there will still be more attendees than are currently registered for Wellington!

So come on Wellington, don’t let your side down – hop online now and register for this event.

After all, it promises to be very informative and worthwhile; and it’s free to all TUANZ members!

In his talk, entitled Communications Enablement, Nortel marketing manager Darren Leffler will look at ways to improve the agility, speed and accuracy of the business by communications enabling processes and integrating them into your most valuable customer facing asset – the contact centre.

This discussion is very relevant today, as now more than ever organisations need to drive greater productivity from their existing investments in people and technology. Reducing human latency caused by a lack of communication or access to information, is one area that presents an opportunity.

Darren will cover some basic technology concepts through simple scenarios and will show how the communications enablement of business processes can deliver better and differentiated customer services while reducing operational expenses.

His presentation will be followed by a sumptuous buffet lunch.

The Wellington session takes place next Wednesday, June 3 at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, from noon until 2pm, with lunch being served at 1pm.

And while we’re at it – we could do with a few more representatives from Hamilton too. So come on Hamilton, your numbers are looking OK, but we know you can do better! Your event takes place next Thursday June 4 at the Novotel Hotel.

We look forward to Wellington and Hamilton rising up and meeting this challenge!

    Louis,

Campare Attendance vs. Venue in Wellington

The Macs Brewery on the waterfront has attracted good attendance regardless of the topic. The Jimmy Cook is too bloody hard to get to at 5.00pm.

Walk a mile in the customer's moccasins and you might work out why your events have not attracted a big audience on The Terrace.

The last event in Wellington was held the same night as many proud parents were attending a graduation ceremony for alumni of Victoria University. The restaurant at 'The Jimmy' was fulll of boisterous/noisy/proud whanau celebrating the achievement of a family member - it was not easy to hear the guest speaker while this was going on!

Kia Kaha to the graduands -

TAUNZ you need to check your diary and book an appropriate venue.
