"Mouthpiece" in mothballs

Everything has its day. "Mouthpiece" is no exception.
For several years its been a popular resource for contact centre professionals up and down new Zealand. But since the recession, things have changed dramatically in the contact centre arena. We've seen a decline in visitor numbers to this part of our site, while the viability of luncheons, awards and conferences specific to contact centres has evaporated. We can see no sign of it coming back.
So reluctantly, our Board has decided to stick to our basic knitting - telecommunications connectivity and the user-centric issues surrounding that. Our Contact Centre Committee has been mothballed, and we have exited the contact centre conference and awards market. The contact centre resource library on this site, recently updated, will stay live but not be maintained from now – we’ll take it down when we judge its getting too dated.
TUANZ has taken a leadership role among contact centres for a decade. In 2000 the Call Centre Managers Association approached us and asked whether we could provide a secretariat for its fledgling organisation. A decade of activity ensued during which TUANZ has led from the front with a professional development programme second to none, awards that have been fiercely contested, and a supply of lots of finely-targeted information and resource.
We're proud of the contribution we've made, and pleased to have met many, many great people along the way.
A big thank you to all who have served on our Contact Centre Committee over the years - especially the current group comprising Garry Jones (Chair,) Giles Potter, Sharon Threadwell, Kamini MacCarthy, and William Robertson. You've provided great leadership.
And thanks to our Mouthpiece blogger and resource library manager, Megan Lacy who has kept the blog and library running with energy and good humour. I'm sure we'll see more of Megan in other parts of TUANZ. I've asked Megan to follow me with a final post on this blog.
Its been a fun ride with lots and lots achieved along the way. Thank you, one and all. Over and out from Mouthpiece.
Ernie Newman, Chief Executive, TUANZ
