OK, so the prizes for the networking and exhibitor competitions are in, the speakers presentations are mostly here, we’ve confirmed the meeting with the Awards MC for next week, our keynote has emailed to say she’s excited about coming over, the committee are all ….
Yes, yes, less than a week to go before kick-off and heaps of stuff still to do, but mostly we’re just really excited about the Conference and the Awards. Fielding questions and making sure all our delegates are well informed about their workshop options and site visit and other queries (and no Megan, I will not be disclosing who the MC is…!!).
From here on in, I thought it would be fun to use the Mouthpiece as a kind of diary about the run up to the conference next Wednesday. So if you want me to answer anything on the blog, leave a comment. If not, I’ll just tell you about stuff that happens.
Like today I said to Leah, our Events Manager, I’m really excited about Kare Anderson coming over because there’s a quote on her website from David Rockefeller Jnr that says: “She will forever change how you see yourself and your world.”
As I pointed out to Leah, that’s a pretty amazing thing to do, completely transform about 200 people’s lives in a 50 minute plenary session, do you think she can do it?
And Leah replied that all she cared about right at that moment was what I thought about the menu options for the lunches on both days.
Which exactly the kind of sensible reply you’d expect from an Event Manager a week out from a major conference…
