Great start to events programme

A core group of hardy souls braved the wind and rain to attend the TUANZ contact centre event at the Bluestone Room in central Auckland yesterday evening.

Sheffield consultants Janet Sullivan and Julia Stones offered some insights into how contact centre managers could make the transition to senior management. Judging from the amount of scribbling of notes that occurred among audience members when the following table was shown, I thought I’d replicate it in the blog:

Mid-management competencies

Executive level competencies

Building partnerships

Developing strategic working relationships

Decision making

Strategic decision making

Business acumen

Commercial acumen

Facilitating change

Strategic change management

Gaining commitment

Influencing and persuading

Building a successful team

Building organisational talent

Special mention must be made of the mini spring rolls that were brought out after the presentation. Apologies to those who attended and didn’t get any – they made the mistake of putting the platter on my table!

It was great having a such an enthusiastic group of people at this event, everyone seemed to be getting alot of useful information from Sheffield along with a chance to catch up with the gossip in the call centre industry! Great news is that we have also got Interactive Intelligence bought to us by Amtel in May and Datacraft in July so really looking forward to meeting more of you at the future events, will try and make sure to choose the spring rolls again!!
