TUANZ lifting the bar on contact centre activities for 2008/2009

Bernice Archer, TUANZ Key Relationships Manager, reports as follows:

“Following a decision in May by the TUANZ Board to allocate more resources to serving the needs of contact centres, A dynamic and buzzing TUANZ Contact Centre Committee convened a few days ago for a Strategic Planning Session for 2008 through to 2010.

Committee Chair Megan Lacy (Livestock Improvement Corp), committee members Anne Withington (TelstraClear), Paul Eastwood (Coca Cola Amatil), Giles Potter (Great Outcomes), Bryan Middleton (NZ Post), Garry Jones  (iiNet) met, with TUANZ staff Sophie Czurajewski (try that one after three drinks!) and Bernice Archer in support. We spent a whole day working through the objectives and implementation of future TUANZ contact centre activities.

”The TUANZ Contact Centre Conference for 2009 will not only provide excellent facilitators and international keynotes, but also more streams to suit the various positions within the Contact Centre profession, packaged to suit different requirements and time restraints. The exhibition and networking areas will be extended to include the physical aspects of your centre ie furniture, flower pots, etc - maybe even some fish tanks!

Plus the TUANZ Contact Centre Awards evening has grown enormously over the years. These days our problem is finding a venue big enough!  A dynamic MC, great entertainment, and heaps of media attention!

“The regular networking opportunities will not disappoint. We went through a quiet patch with our lunches last year but this year these have bounced back big time. Working Lunches are sell outs – We'd welcome your ideas on content - tell us the kind of speaker you'd like, using the "Comments" section below.

“Events aside, there’s our proposed CONTACT CENTRE TOOLBOX – YOUR ESSENTIAL GUIDE. We are in the process of building a Contact Centre Toolbox which will be launched within the next few weeks. This toolbox will become your essential one-stop shop for sourcing all types of information relating to your Contact Centre from coaching to counselling, furniture to consultants, nutritionists, statistics, reports, company profiles, research, the list goes on.

Watch this space for the big announcement!

We would love to assist you in compiling your Toolbox. We have what has become the leading recording and QMS available not only in terms of awards but also cost and features.

Great news team I am looking forward to seeing this development. Can you also post info around OOS/OSH and who can provide a CC with advice on seating positions to ensure the team are set up correctly i.e. desk position, screen height etc, thanks

Anne Withington says:
Your local health & safety contacts should be able to assist with the seating positions etc. It does depend on what sort of seating you actually have. These days there are a lot of different options, and the optional stand up / sit down work stations are becoming quite popular as we focus on becoming a more active industry. There is no need (apart from the obvious set up costs of workstations) for CC's to be a sedentary occupation these days, and giving people the option to be able to be a bit mobile during the day definitely has advantages for health & well being, therefore having flow on effects including reduction in absenteeism, attrition and increased staff morale.
