Boxes, buses and corporate tables

We closed registrations for the Awards this morning because we had to get the numbers through to SkyCity. Because we offer menu options, we have to tell them a week out from the event – but the room was pretty much at capacity anyway.

Still some people haven’t quite got the message about cut-off dates. I took this photo of Leah just as I was leaving the office tonight. She was on the phone frantically trying to see if she could get 14 more people a table for the Awards – never mind that a table only seats 10!

The boxes in front of her office consist of the stuff we’ll be putting in the delegate bags. The correct name for this is ‘collateral’ but that word always makes me think of TV police dramas, so I prefer the more common term ‘stuff’. I wish I could tell you some of the cool things the sponsors have sent over (especially for the exhibitor prizes), but I’m sworn to secrecy.

We also booked the buses to the site visits this morning. Someone told me the other day that this was one of the highlights of their Conference experience two years ago – the bus to and from the site visit and all the talk amongst their fellow passengers about the centre they’d just visited.

Anyway, the good news for all you slackers out there is that there are still places at the Conference. SkyCity will let us give those catering numbers early next week so give us a call if you’re keen.
