Getting the quad bike to start in a sub zero daybreak in Canterbury during July when there is a demanding moo-chorus from the back of the farm for breakfast can be very similar to career planning.

If this is how you feel at the moment then you should read the latest article from one of the TUANZ contact centre committee members. Sharon Threadwell has written a light hearted article along with five easy steps to help you develop your next set of career goals. Check it out here

And with spring, or should I say spring rain, here, this is a good time to stop and review what you are looking for in your career in the next six months.

Sharon is the newest member of the TUANZ contact centre committee. She has been involved in the industry for the last 12 years, trying her hand at most things from customer service rep through to technical support, training and team leader roles.

In the manager seat since 2001, Sharon has taken the IRD contact centre in Christchurch from the original 25 staff to over 250 during this time.

With the creation of the monthly contact centre newsletter we are pleased to advise that the committee is providing articles monthly. Monthly articles can be found under the committee members page with each month's ‘Wrap up’ topic. Check out the Swine flu article by Garry Jones and a Springtime checklist article from Giles Potter.

We are fortunate to have an experienced group of contact centre professionals on the committee with over 60 years of knowledge between them. Now that's a lot of knowledge and they are all so young!

Don’t forget to check out who’s on the committee and remember they are always happy to help with question or issues. Feel free to email them contactcentres@tuanz.org.nz.

And if you would like to subscribe to our monthly Contect Centre Newsletter, please also email your details to us at: contactcentres@tuanz.org.nz
