Networking, we need to continue doing it

Now that I’m on board with TUANZ, I have been sitting down, working through the Resource Library that has been created so far and wondering, how do I continue to make the library grow into a great resource available to Contact Centre Manager and Team Leaders.

Continue ‘Networking’ is one way.   This makes me ask, ‘why’ are some people so good at networking and some people prefer to be in the back row of a conference or luncheon hoping not to be seen.

Ok, I stick my hand up and say, I have traditionally been one of the ‘back row sitters’. I found as I moved into different roles such as Contact Centre Manager and of late the TUANZ Chair of the committee I had to change my perception of what networking was. It’s a matter of making yourself available, being genuine, enthusiastic and present.

All in all, I think we are getting good at networking in our industry, and may we continue to do so in the future.

Don’t forget to sit with someone new at the next TUANZ Contact Centre luncheon, and then relax, have a chat and learn something new. Make another contact; you never know when you may need their knowledge or experience.

So are we networking the right way? I went on the hunt to answer the question and have added it to the Resource Library, under a new title of Personal Development, click here.
